What is 360ism Damage Protection?

360ism Damage Protection is a mandatory add-on that limits your liability if your rented gear is damaged due to a covered event.

For most orders, this charge can be credited back if you provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming 360ism Studios, LLC as a loss payee, covering the full replacement value of the gear in your order.

If a covered event occurs, Damage Protection typically limits your liability to 10% of the replacement cost of the equipment, unless the equipment can be repaired for less.

Quick Limits

  • Liability cap: 10% of replacement value (for covered accidental damage), or actual repair cost if lower.
  • COI credit: Submit a qualifying COI to have the Damage Protection charge credited back.
  • Exclusions apply: Theft/loss, water/sand/sun-sensor damage, intentional damage, or negligent/abusive use are not covered.

✔ Covered (Accidental Damage)

  • Accidental impact damage to camera bodies/mechanics.
  • Major scratches or scuffs to lens glass (front element protected by UV in most cases).
  • Other accidental damage—provided the gear can be returned to us.

✖ Not Covered (Exclusions)

  • Theft or loss of equipment.
  • Sensor damage from direct exposure to the sun.
  • Water or sand damage.
  • Intentional damage or abusive/negligent use.

Damage: Major scratches on lens glass, impact damage to body or mechanical components.

Normal wear: Minor scuffs on barrels or hoods. (We include UV filters on many lenses to protect the front element.)

We inspect gear after each rental—you won’t be held responsible for pre-existing cosmetic flaws. Please inspect at pickup and again upon return; take photos of anything unusual and notify us immediately.

Negligence means failing to follow proper handling/usage guidelines leading to preventable damage (e.g., using gear in unsafe conditions, improper mounting, ignoring warning indicators). Negligent damage is not covered by Damage Protection.

Report immediately. Contact us right away so we can determine next steps.

Responsibility: Per the Rental Agreement, you are responsible for repair costs or replacement if not repairable.

Damage Protection limits: May reduce your liability to 10% of replacement value if the event is covered. If you provided your own insurance/COI (or damage resulted from negligence), you’re responsible for the full cost as applicable.

Notify us immediately. You must contact us as soon as possible.

  • Police report: Required for theft claims.
  • Statement: We may request a detailed incident statement.
  • Investigation: We may follow up directly or via an agent.

Liability: If our investigation finds the equipment can still be returned (in any condition), you must return it or pay 100% of replacement value. Theft/loss is not covered by Damage Protection.

Provide a Certificate of Insurance naming 360ism Studios, LLC as loss payee, covering the full replacement value of the rented gear on your order. Once verified, the Damage Protection charge can be credited back on eligible orders.
